I&#8217;ve been trying to understand my reluctance to once again compete, seeing as I enjoyed my first outing. I finally figured it out.<\/p>\n<p>Labor Day Holiday is a chance to take care of chores that have been neglected of late.<\/p>\n<p>So why isn&#8217;t the <em><strong>3-day novel contest<\/strong><\/em> scheduled for, say, the first weekend in January? For at least those of us in the Northern Hemisphere, and of sufficiently high latitude, we&#8217;re stuck indoors all the time anyways &#8211; might as well sit in front of the computer for three days straight and type, because otherwise it&#8217;s go out and endure bad weather.<\/p>\n<p>My apologies to skiers and snow-shoers, but you&#8217;re just contrary anyways.<\/p>\n<p>The other problem is that, as a software engineer &amp; occasional blogger, I spend too much time in front of the computer already. Maybe when I quit programming I&#8217;ll be ready to throw myself into 3 days of mad typing.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>3-day novel contest<\/strong><\/em> registration closes in just an hour or two, I think.
